🤓 As a Senior Software Engineer, the company expects you to...

• Own technical domains across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.
• Build and improve reservation, property turnover, guest service, and pricing workflows.
• Develop APIs, data models, integrations, and event-driven services.
• Improve synchronization and reconciliation between internal and external systems.
• Strengthen monitoring, failure recovery, security, permissions, and auditability.
• Work with Pablo to define practical architectural boundaries and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to clarify requirements and prioritize useful improvements.
• Investigate production issues and address the underlying causes.
• Use AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining technical quality.

✨ You are the person they are looking for if you have...

• Strong software engineering experience, typically five or more years, with a backend or backend-focused full-stack background. Demonstrated scope and judgment matter more than tenure.
• Experience building, shipping, and maintaining production systems across frontend and backend.
• Strong foundations in API design, authentication, data modeling, and relational databases.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Go, or a comparable language, with the ability to adapt to the existing stack.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and tools for monitoring and diagnosing production issues.
• A consistent approach to clean code, automated testing, and system reliability.
• The ability to turn an ambiguous business problem into a practical technical solution.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss risks, challenge assumptions, and explain trade-offs.
• Experience using AI coding tools while reviewing, testing, and taking responsibility for their output.
• Fluent written and spoken English and availability to collaborate across Chicago business hours.
